Anker SOLIX's Solarbank range is one of the best-known battery solutions for balcony power plants. Compare kits and standalone units here – with live prices from several shops.

The Solarbank generations at a glance

The Solarbank is a battery for plug-in solar devices that sits between the panels and the home circuit. Depending on the generation, it integrates MPPT inputs for the panels, an inverter with feed-in limited to 800 watts, and expansion batteries. The offers mainly feature series 2, 3 (e.g. E2700 Pro) and 4 (e.g. E5000 Pro) – the number after the “E” roughly indicates the capacity in watt-hours.

Many retailers offer complete kits with two to four panels, a mount and sometimes a smart meter. Compare carefully which components are included – the titles are very similar, the contents are not.

What to look for in Anker kits

With the same core units, the details determine the price:

  • Capacity and expansion: how many add-on batteries can be connected, and what total capacity is possible?
  • Panel output: up to 2,000 Wp is permitted for plug-in solar devices; check how many panels the Solarbank can take directly.
  • Smart meter or smart plug: enables demand-based feed-in instead of a fixed profile.
  • Backup power or socket function: only available on certain models.
  • Warranty and retailer: check for official retailers and the manufacturer's warranty in the offer.

Registration and operation

As with any balcony power plant with a battery, you register the system in the Market Master Data Register – the solar system and battery as separate units. Feed-in to the home circuit remains limited to 800 watts. Choose the location so the battery stays within its permitted temperature range; a shady, dry spot is ideal.

Who a Solarbank is suitable for

The Solarbank suits households that need little electricity during the day and use more in the evening, as well as systems with plenty of panel output that regularly produce a surplus at midday. If you already use Anker devices or the app, integration is convenient. If you only have two panels on a shaded balcony, first take a look at your actual surplus – a metering plug shows you how much electricity goes unused into the grid at midday.
